Challenges

  • Hallways and lobby needed to remain open and safe for foot traffic during project in this occupied, Class A building.
  • Upon removing the wallcovering in the hallways, unforeseeable wall conditions were revealed. The walls were previously improperly taped and finished.

Solution

  • Clarion Project Manager and carpenters drew on past experiences to create a system of safety precautions mixed with off hours work that allowed the building to operate as usual during construction.
  • Clarion carpenters adapted to unusual circumstances and restored poorly finished walls to a level 5 finish.
  • Clarion worked with building management during ceiling construction to enable engineers to perform maintenance on building equipment in the ceiling, concurrent with construction.
